Here are a few pictures of what the Hard Dog Custom Formed High Density Padding available for Hard Core/Sport bars looks like. The padding is SFI 45.1 standard compliant and manufactured by BSCI.
This is the reverse side (faces the roll bar). It is concave to conform to the tubing.
Here you can see the profile of the padding, at the thickest point it measures about 3/4" then tapers to a paper thin edge as it comes around the bar.
